Boomslang harness vendors

Does anyone know if any of the authorized vendors here carry boomslang harnesses for an nb2 -> EMU ?

I did try a search of the vendor forum, but came up with nothing. The only ones I can find via google are $200+. I was hoping there may be some better pricing from a vendor here. Any info toward a reasonable source would be much appreciated.

Boomslang sells that exact harness: Boomslang Fabrication | GReddy Ultimate Wire Harnesses

(You are aware that Boomslang is the name of a specific company, and not some generic term, right?)

$200 is actually on the cheap side of reasonable for a harness of this nature. They're time-consuming to build. If I were selling them, I'd charge more than that.

I did know that I could get one directly from them, but I also thought that they had authorized vendors ( http://www.boomslang.us/wholesale.php ) who could also sell them, and hopefully at a more competitive price. I realize it's not a lightweight bit of cabling work; certainly worth it compared to the time I'd have to put into making one from a raw blank patch cable, but I figured with efficiencies of 'mass' production, there might be some swing in there.

Ah crap, I'll come right out and say it Joe; I'm CHEAP. . . but I still want good stuff. AT least I had to ask. :dunno:

We know you're cheap- you bought a Miata. :D

One of my jobs is designing wiring for radio studios and network ops centers. Been doing this for over ten years, and I still can't get over showing up at a job site, opening up a 24x24x24" cardboard box containing a wiring harness that weighs maybe 20 lbs total, and knowing that this is ten grand worth of cabling. (That's just the labor and materials to have our fabrication guy build it, not counting my design time.)

This is customarily followed by picking up the harness and tossing it roughly onto the floor to spread it out.

Shit's expensive.

HAHA, too true!

btw Joe, I think it's only fair to warn you that I have intentions of PMing you in the not too distant future to possibly pick your brains of anything you might still recall about the EMU from your past (albeit not nb2) experiences. :x:
