cannot find a good answer.
Hey guys bought a 90 1.6 miata that has a cx racing turbo kit on it already. Guy gave me some 315cc injectors from a b2600 truck he says but the car has no sort of tuning as of yet. It runs okay but I'm scared to really get on it because of this. I cannot afford the ms auto tune yet but I am saving I am wondering if there is a cost effective simple solution. A patch job if you will for now. Should I install these injectors ? This is my first miata and I am in a bit over my head.
Thank you |
What's your wideband say?

no

Do not have a wide band.

You are going to get raped asking this question here.
Wire your wastegate open so it cant boost and leave it like that until you get a full standalone ecu, bigger injectors, a wideband, and a professional dyno tune. |
Autotune is entirely useless without a wideband.

Those injectors are on the small side. Regardless, without a wideband sensor and a decent way to manage the fuel, putting in larger injectors will do nothing for you.
As stated above, wire the wastegate open until you get the proper fuel management. |
I tried to come up with responses that were less dramatic than what others have said, but it's really the best advice, unless your goal is to buy a new engine.
Stop the boosts and get proper engine management. That begins with a wideband AFR gauge. |
I appreciate you guys not hounding me to hard. I thought there might be a cheap ecu flash but from what I read that's a no go. I sourced a factory manifold on Craigslist I am in the process of installing now. I am going to leave the ic piping just hanging out for now until the end of the month when I can order mega squirt auto tune and a wide band gauge. Then I will reinstall the turbo. Should I run the injectors then or go for something bigger?
