Coldstart - Starts second time only Miata Turbo

I have a Miata Turbo mk2 2000 1.8 with a turbo and Go tech PROX standalone ecu.
It's running a 36-1 trigger wheel with a MAP sensor only (no TPS) .

The problem I am having is that it won't start the first time ( second time ok). I can start it on the key but never the first time from cold. From warm it is ok.
its takes about 5-6 turns when it does start.

Last week I have changed the spark plug and HT leads.
I have discovered that the bottom of spark plug number 1 was covered in oil.
Since changing it, it now runs better but the coldstart problem is still there.

I beleive its one of 3 things:
When they changed the oil it they overfilled it and it went down spark plug number 1.
Or, the rocker cover gasket has gone
Or, the piston Rings has gone.

I have noticed that the oil level is pretty high. So i will need drain that.
The battery is measuring at 12v so i dont know if thats a problem.

I have change the settings relating to the cold maps and start up fuel but it doesn't help.

I wil hapilly send people my map to view it offline if they wish.

Another problem I am having is that as I am driving the car hovers around 1500rpm untill the car comes to a complete stop then it comes down to 1000rpm.
I occasionally like to coast downhill so when I press the press the clutch i like it to drop down to idle speed not hover around 1500rpm.

Any thoughts or observations is greatly appreciated.

increase your pulse width a little during cold starts.

Here is a snapshot of my fuel settings. Let me know what you think.

what size injectors do you have?

Stock injectors 265cc. I'm looking to fit 440cc but think it should be able to start and idle properly on the stock injectors.

try adding 1ms and see what happens. i think you'll wanna be closer to the 4-5-6ms range. I know nothing of that software, I'm judging this based off my MS settings. We inject 3.6ms at 130*F CLT temps, but like 7.5ms at 60*F.

Thanks I will try that.

I have bought a new battery it seems to be the same.

I have changed the start fuelling a little higher, to 4-5-6, but that causes it to flood the engine and starts even worse than before. Apparantly lowering it to 1.13ms seems better.

The sparks plugs and it looks black. I guess the fuel is definitely getting there.

My ignition coil charge is 3.06ms it has a ford 4 pack coil. how does this compare with the megasquirt?

By the way does any one know what this menu does?
