Data Analysis Freeware options
I'm looking for software to import, graph and view csv files.
Similar to Megalog Viewer but without the 500 line limit of the free version. Can anyone recommend any software to try out? |
Excel
SCILAB R online Java apps PSpice student version There's probably better ones for your needs... |
Almost forgot... AEM Series 1 software can load CSV files IIRC.
|
I've been recommended to use datazap.me by a friend, but haven't tried it out yet.

AEM DAQ also works, its a re-skinned version of the really nice GEMS software except its free on AEMs sight and not like a billion dollars from GEMS.

how are you going to use datazap while tuning? or is this just for looking at huge logs at home?

Our customer base is not as tech savy as this forum. Simple is better. AEM data will probably be the advanced user recommendation. (EDIT: It looks like they can't handle CSV file input) PS: We plan on adding Aftermarket ECU support for the gauge. It's a very slick product. Custom warnings, view up to 5 parameters at a time. View all of the Megasquirt broadcast PIDs. Data log everything with a button click. I had a proto running in the miata and it worked great. |
I was just curious. Cause it looks pretty neat, I was just bummed out to see that it's an online thing only. I'm still using MLV for most of my stuff.

When @cyotani? I'm looking at solutions now (3-5 months) to keep gauges to a minimum in a new build.
I'm not sure where that falls in the firmware team's priority list since the aftermarket ECU market is much smaller but I'm pushing for it to get done. Megasquirt support should fit in with your timeline but don't quote me on that. As always with electronics product development there are many things that can delay a release. |

Have you tried AEMLog from Series 1?
I've cleaned up the file and the interface with AEMLog is a bit clunky. Maybe it's okay after a little learning curve. datazap still looks to be a better analysis package. AEMdata/GEMS is a nice package. |
Ah it does open .csv but you have to convert it with a python script and rename the file. I forgot that part. I know I use AEM data for looking at my RCP2 logs and those are .csv, theres just a work around that people figured out.
