Default ECU with no VTCS control - default position open or closed ?

Hey,

With a standalone ECU that does not control VTCS, do I need to do anything or is it open by default ?

Thanks

pretty sure they are normally open, they close with vacuum when the solenoid is active.

On "MS3 Basic" the output for VCTS is configured to switch "on" when under 2300rpm and 60C.
Can I understand from this that it is normally open (not restrictive) ?

Thanks

What they said. It's a cold start aid to reduce emissions and stabilize cold idle. Warm car doesn't use it at all I dont believe.

correct. and you'll definitely feel it if you accidentally enabled it while driving because you'd lose 90% power

And for the last time, your Haltech DOES control VTCS.

I know Haltech can control VTCS, but if the default position is open I can spare one output.
The patch loom does not utilize it, it needs to be modified for VTCS control.

Remove the VTCS butterflies from your intake manifold. Forget about controlling them. Have a beer.

True, but less money for beer than....

Point being, stop wasting time trying to control them.
