Did I break my OE ECU harness?
I was re-routing my three part (plug) wiring harness for the ECU to put the Rev-built MS2 for my 04' MSM in a better spot. Once said and done, when I was wigging the middle of the three connectors to plug it back into the MS2, I could cause a solenoid clicking sound from under the hood just by twisting the connector in my fingers a little. I don't remember this occurring before in the process of unplugging the MS2.
The car started fine, seemed to idle fine, and then I got a nice shock when I got out of the car. Ah, is this a normal...mostly the twisting connector thing, or did I yank a wire out of place in the connector? |
Is it too hard to go look at the connector and see? I'm using my psychic powers as hard as I can but I just can't quite tell, you must be just outside my range.
Nothing in a car besides a spark plug has enough potential to shock you unless you start licking shit, so sayith my psychic powers. |
the middle connector has an output that controls the main relay.
if the car was ON and that got unplugged, the main realy would click and you'd lose power to everything on a white/red power wire. sounds like maybe it's not getting a good connection. |

Thanks. |
I know this sounds obvious, but I've learned this the hard way: never pull the connectors out by the wires. Ever.

I think the breakage took place when pulling the harness through to re-route it. The car seems to run fine but I still need to fix it. (where is the head against the wall icon?) |
