Does anyone know the owner of the Miataturbo Wiki?

I was reading through this. Fuel Injectors - Miata Turbo FAQ They stated...

"Est. Horsepower x B.S.F.C / # of injectors x duty cycle = lb/hr per injector

cc = lb/hr x 10.5

200 x .55 / 4 x .8 = 110 / 3.2 = 34.4 lb/hr x 10.5 = 360cc"

But "200 x .55 / 4 x .8 = 110" is incorrect.

200 x .55 / 4 x .8 = 22

Does anyone have the correct equations?

The equation needs brackets, but is otherwise correct.

(200 x .55) / (4 x .8) = 34.4

lazzer408 05-29-2013 08:00 PM

34.4 ≠ 110

18psi 05-29-2013 08:02 PM

110/3.2=34.4

lazzer408 05-29-2013 08:13 PM

Where is the 110 / 3.2 coming from though?

Shouldn't it just read as: (200 x .55) / (4 x .8) = 34.4 lb/hr x 10.5 = 360cc ?

You know that kid in 5th grade who annoys the rest of the class by insisting that the teacher is wrong, when in reality the teacher is correct and the entire class knows it?

Lazzer, you're that kid.

nitrodann 05-29-2013 08:21 PM

200x0.55 equals 110 etc etc

I just don't understand why it was entered in the equation. Just because they wanted to breakdown the individual equations to "dumb it down"?

I see what they were trying to explain now but for someone who just wants to plug in variables they made a mess of it. I was trying to figure out what the 110 and the 3.2 represented not realizing where they got those numbers from.

Anyways I got it. (200 x .55) / (4 x .8) = 34.4 lb/hr x 10.5 = 360cc

Savington, "That kid" just didn't realize the teacher was trying to dumb it down for the rest of the class. ;)

Gotta show your work.

Order of operations.. PEMDAS.
Parentheses first, then Exponents, then Multiplication and Division, then Addition and Subtraction.

obviously it didnt work.

:brain:

Read it like this:
Est. Horsepower x B.S.F.C / # of injectors x duty cycle
= 200 x .55 / 4 x .8
= 110 / 3.2

triple88a 06-11-2013 07:41 AM

Technically Brain shouldnt it be more like this?

200 x .55
-------------- =
4 x .8

Braineack 06-11-2013 07:47 AM

techincally, shouldn't i ban you?

triple88a 06-11-2013 07:54 AM

But then whos gonna keep the picture thread alive? I find the lack of activity lately disturbing.

Braineack 06-11-2013 08:44 AM

I just posted 3 flamingos in it!
