E85 ignition timing map

2 Attachment(s)
Switched to E85 3 weeks ago. I think my ignition timing is now pretty close. I was able to add about 7-8 degrees near peak torque above ~160kpa. I added as much advance as I felt comfortable with on a stock 170k motor.

I've attached my CA 91-octane ignition map as well as the new E85 map.
So, E85 users, how does it look?
Let's see some other E85 maps!

you'll need to list the setup and all that. so max boost you're running is 160kpa?

Looks decent to me, though I'm in the 17-18 area on mine around 200kpa.

1994 stock longblock
GT2560R
AEM EMS
DIY manifold, 38mm EWG, Ebay IC, DIY tuning, etc.
Made 245whp at 200kpa on CA 91 octane

440cc injectors at 60 psi base pressure with an aftermarket 1:1 afpr and Walbro 255HP. This gives me 92% max duty cycle at 220kpa. I'm cool with that for now. I'll get 750cc low-impedance units when I care.

I'm at 180kpa on e85 right now... I plan on running it at 220kpa.

if your only running 220kpa, why do you have cells to 320?

you know you can click the numbers on the Y axis and type in new ones, right?

would give you a shit ton more resolution since you arent running that much boost.

Edit: 440s with e85 arent maxing out at 18psi? really?

'Cause that's what my AEM map sensor goes to. Can't add more resolution than the sensor has built in.

The EMS is out of my old MR2 turbo. I never bothered to change the breakpoints. IMO, It's got plenty of resolution.

did you read what i typed?

click on the numbers and make your own breakpoints. if you plan on running to 220kpa, run to 240kpa on the map and split it up from there.

lets you get more cells, wherever you want them.

Keep in mind that the fuel pressure almost 80psi, so they're probably flowing closer to 700cc.
A set of new injectors costs nearly as much as a good used longblock... hard for me to justify the investment.
