Default Why dynos should plot Torque divided by MAP

I've written about this before but this time I have dyno data.
Because there's a lot of formatting I wrote this up in MS Word and PDF'ed it.

Comments, typos?

I feel slightly more educated on tuning in general

Excellent idea. Should be globalized.

This is very well thought out and clearly written.

I'm curious about the use of BMEP in your paper when this is mostly about transient pulls on chassis dynos.

Sounds more like a hardware issue than a software issue.
What prevents you from doing a steady state calibration at full load?

Because doing a sweep is faster. Saves money.

Have you looked at a dyno run file? Is it plain text? What if a simple script could plot torque/map just looking at the dyno file.

Edit: just checked. They are binary. There should be an easy way to export them though I would assume. BRB downloading dyno software.

Hey cool

Would be cool if dyno software let you do custom equations or something.

Depends on the dyno.

DynoJet has free software to export it as CSV. DynaPack used to, but they updated to a new file format with their new software and they haven't released that to the general public. You can export as CSV if you do it on the dyno controller, though.
