F-Con mini
Was wondering if this would be a good timing device with stock injectors and stock fpr on a 7-8psi sr20 setup. Also, is the f-con year specific? Meaning if you bought one that didn't specify a year application could it feasibly work with 1.6's and 1.8's? Thanks.

The F-con mini isn't even Miata-specific, much less year-specific. It's just a generic four-channel injector pulse lengthener, which connects to the vehicle's MAP sensor (Miatas don't have MAP sensors) and adds some duration to the injector pulses. In terms of its capabilities, it is similar to the Voodoo box and the various PowerCards, though in terms of tuning, well, there isn't much.
It's been discontinued for quite a while, and there's probably a good reason for that. :D By SR20, I'm assuming that you have the turbo out of one, and not the whole engine, yes? |
haha yeah just the turbo. That's fine...I ran across the msd timing control box...I think I might lean towards that.

They are usually cheap and I like them. Yea bipes is better. But $$$$ is the differance. I would not buy a new either one! If the price is right get it. But if the price is close to a used bipes get bipes. We are currently using the msd on 2 of our cars, and about to use one on a third car! Good Car! |

The F-con mini is a piggyback fuel controller, like the Voodoo. The Bipes is a timing controller. Two two units are not comparable. |
