Fuel Riser un-install

This has been kind of hard for me to figure out. My car has been a pain in the ass to turbo mainly because it was a sebring supercharged car and swapping everything back over is takin some time.

Plus, i'm not the one who originally installed it so i'm going at it blind.

I'm goin to order MS soon and need to figure out what I need to do about the fuel pressure riser.

Do I just remove it and call it a day? Or is there some sort of stock peice that I need to re-install? This is my last step and I need to get it off soon so I can sell my old setup and buy more stuff.

did it replace the factory fpr or run aft of it?

viperormiata 11-11-2008 11:09 AM

I'm almost 100% sure it replaced the original. Whats making it hard is that the car came with a built motor, supercharger, and a bunch of shit and I have almost no idea exactly all that was done.

But.....i did pay only 300 bucks for it!

I apreciate the help Brain!

Btw, I suck at using image codes!

I'm almost sure that it replaced the original. I dont see any thing that looks like a factory unit, just the fuel lines running in and out of the fpr thats already on.

Any ideas or info guys? were to find a factory one?

there a junkyard thats close buy but is it worth getting one used or should i just buy a new one?

Take a picture of it. And take a picture of your fuel rail so we can see if the Factory FPR is in place.

and learn how to post pics. that previous link "This photo cannot be viewed because it has either been deleted or marked as private by the user. "

Judging by the engine pics on your myspace, it appears that you still have the factory FPR, unless if there is one hidden in a really stupid place. Look on the fuel rail, is there a round metal thing bolted to it? Trace the return line back from the FMU, it will go right to it. If thats the case, just take the FMU off and hook the lines back up to the factory hard lines.

I'm using a Vortech with a 6:1 disc in it along with my MS and 460's so I get higher pressure since my injectors are smaller than optimal.

ApexOnYou 11-13-2008 01:37 PM

My RC550s will be up for sale in a month or so if you want to fix that problem.. :p

paul 11-13-2008 01:40 PM

nope. one of the points of going with the vortech was money. since that decision my salary just got cut in half so car expenses are taking a back seat.

ApexOnYou 11-13-2008 01:41 PM

I hear ya on that one.

I'll take the RC's if you don't mind.:)

Thanks for the help guys, Yeah I traced the peice on the rail, thanks Apex.

Just gotta hook the lines back up.

It's really about time I get serious with this build and finally get my car back on the road.

First thing i'm gonna do is whomp my best friends camaro and give him 2 single digit salutes:fawk:

ApexOnYou 11-13-2008 11:35 PM

Since I haven't decided a price yet just watch for the for sale ad lol.

Glad you got it figured out.

viperormiata 11-13-2008 11:47 PM

Yeah, whenever I find something else about my car that I don't understand I freak out and post retarded questions instead of researching and figuring out that the oem fpr is on the FUEL RAIL!!!

oh well, just one more step to gettin my straight line monster ready.

ApexOnYou 11-14-2008 01:13 AM

Don't sweat it. When I went turbo I didn't know a thing about the fuel system and installed the FMU backwards, BEFORE the fuel rail. We all start somewhere.
