Fuel Tech FT450 to 2001 ign coils
I just picked up a FT450 ECU/Guage cluster for a good deal 25% off and had to get it. So I haven't planned this out at all. This is going in my 2001 Miata base Exocet. The ECU has 4 channels dedicated to ign coils. But the miata has 2 coils which a presume fire 2 holes at the Sametime? So if that is true then I only need 2 channels of the ECU, but the owners manual might be stating that I will need Spark Pro 1 to make this work. I don't know if anyone has experience with the Fuel Tech line up. I will be emailing FT tomorrow this question.
If no one asked the internet we wouldn't have a history for the future to find. I couldn't find anyone posting this subject. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...252a7401ca.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...42d27fc37a.jpg |
Why not run sequential injection and ignition? You'd have each coil wired up to an individual control vs wasted spark and firing two coils off one control.

But fueltech answered back the same day. The FT450 will work with factory ignition system. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...232e2a5bc3.png |
