Generic sensor engine kill discussion
 

I started a discussion about having the ability to kill an engine based on a sensor parameter over on MSextra.

Try and keep it civil over there they aren't as gay as us.

I hope it turns into something, a good ecu safety system would be really cool to have.

I believe that having an automatic killswitch would be a serious safety issue. If I lost oil pressure, I'd rather kill my bearings than have the ECU decide to kill my motor during a spirited sweeper, and pitch me into the scenery.

It wouldn't have to be an always on scenario. A switch was discussed. Go to the track turn it on.

Or maybe its not for you. A track only car might fare better.
