Injector Rehab.com

Has anyone used Injector Rehab dot com?

I just purchased a set of 460cc RX7 injectors that need a little TLC. Their site looks a little... questionable... with all the chicks (not that I don't enjoy them, but makes it seem less legit). Anyone have any experience?

Is there anywhere else I could send these to get rebuilt?

NateTheShake 06-03-2010 08:05 PM

Follow-up: sorry if this is the wrong forum. I figured tuning would be the right place for injectors, but was also leaning towards general.

I sent my 460 to get then cleaned and refreshed. I will definitively do business with them again. :bigtu:

I have heard of some bad experiences from them. I would go with the forum sponsor Deatschworks, or RC Engineering.

Sent them my 550's and they cleaned them inside and out. Turn around was quick and I'd do business with them again too.

Shit then is one of the things that didnt fail on my built. Anyway deatschworks has good prices too, and IIRC there's a discount for forum member. Also if they fuck it up, you can always bitch here :giggle:

This was the bad experience I was referring to, from a local autocrosser - http://forum.miata.net/vb/showpost.p...31&postcount=6

That IS NOT a good story right there.

I'm thinking Deatschwerks is looking pretty good. I'll give them a call tomorrow and get the ball rolling.

Thanks guys.

^From that link

Their tech told me they didn't lubricate the pintle after cleaning it so it would stick and clog from their cleaning solution if the injectors weren't installed immediately. Because 5 weeks had elapsed before I was able to install the injectors, it was apparently MY fault that their cleaning solution and lack of lubrication had clogged the injectors.
I had a similar experience. After having them clean my 550's, they sat on the shelf for about a year, and all were stuck closed when I finally installed them, requiring me to send them back for another cleaning. According to their email, it took them 3 hours to get them unstuck, and there was some rust inside them as well.

Why they don't use some sort of lubricant is beyond me.

Lubricant is used. It is noted/warned on the site that it is not recommended to let them sit for to long after cleaning. http://injector-rehab.com/faq/service.htm

That is not an uncommon thing... Just a quick 2 minute search you will find the same info/warning/warranty/disclaimer... whatever you would like to call it on most any of the popular injector service sites.

http://www.cruzinperformance.com/learnmore.html
http://www.deatschwerks.com/docs/war...urn_policy.pdf

Basically, no matter where you send them, if you let them sit for to long, you would have had the same problem.

chriscar 06-04-2010 06:37 PM

Ok, it was my understanding that there was no sort of lubricant used, and the thread posted on miata.net states that your tech told the end user that they didn't lube them.

Why is it though, that injectors don't weld themselves shut if you don't run an engine for more than a month?

For reference Injector-Rehab was once a sponsor for this site. I remember the ads of the chicks.

That must have been a misunderstanding on her part.

As simple as I can put it... They are in a sealed system while installed in a car not allowing ALL of the fuel/lubrication to evaporate or to allow moisture into the injector internals leading to internal rust.

Did you call us today? We have at least 2 sets from members here get sent in per week. We have our forum special that is $19/injector + free shipping back to you. Don't forget to put that on your service form. :)

I used injector-rehab and was happy with the service. I called them up and they honored the Miataturbo forum discount ($12.50/injector and free return shipping) even though they were no longer a sponsor. Never hurts to ask. Just FYI.
