Best Megasquirt?

Best Megasquirt?
Im going to buy a standalone and I've decided on the megasquirt.
Which one is best in your opinion and why? Bang for buck vs features vs ease of installation and use.
I want to learn to tune on my stock na8 and I have a mazdaspeed turbo kit waiting (I know its a **** kit, its for legality). And have dreams of building the motor, proper turbo, VVT, the whole shabang. I know how to weild a soldering iron, read schematics, etc.
Which is the best in my situation?
I've spent a couple of hours researching and comparing them. Pretty sure I want the MS3X but is the Mapdaddy worthwhile? Is DIYAutotune the best retailer?
I've done some searching through forums, retailers, etc, but want the final word from the old hands.
Cheers.

I'm partial to Reverant's MS2 enhanced computers. Support is excellent, price is right, and it does everything I need and more. You can't go wrong with either vendor but I can email Dimitris with stupid questions and he answers them.

Also, and heres a question with a lot of potential stupidity. Do you think its possible to fit the megasquirt components within the stock ecu casing?
I know it wont bolt in or anything, but with a bit of messing around. It will only be 1 off and short term. Reason is if I get put through emission testing I need to have a stock (looking) ecu. If not I can just install the stock one and have the wires leading to nothing lol.
So ms3x from DIYAutotune the way to go? Any cheaper retailer you guys know of that will ship to Australia?

Reverant has a PNP pre-built option that's pretty damn cheap right now btw. I know someone who started building one, then decided to sell off project too.
a MSI would fit, a ms3x, not so much. Why would anyone look at your ECU?

Well I had a great response all typed and the backspace key became the back key.
MS3x is best. Rev MS2 enhanced is easiest. MS2 is cheapest/easiest.
I don't recommend a DIY for most people. I went that route and I see why there are so many 20 page megasquirt build threads and partial megasquirts for sale in the classifieds.

Im confident I can build my own, might take a bit of debugging but Im keen to learn more about it. Im also pretty switched on with a bit of electrical experience from designing and modifying guitar amps and effect pedals.
So whatever I buy Im keen to build my own. From an installation stand point what are some key points of difference? I was thinking about buying one of those harness extenders that plug into the stock ecu plug and wire it in from there, running additional lines as necessary. Terrible idea?
Can someone link me a step by step install guide for a ms3 into stock miata/mx5? Ive looked previously and wasnt able to find a decent one. I may have gone full retard on this occassion...

Thats probably what I will go with so I dont need to hack it up too much... And I imagine the 3 will get the most support from now on.
