From Link to?

Well I think I've decided to move on from my Link and look at something else. I am thinking either Adaptronic or MSPNP. I have no desire to build my own ECU, I just don't have the time.

If the MSPNP would have been around when I bought my Link I absolutely would have bought one. Now with the Adaptonic being available my choice isn't entirely clear. I am leaning towards one of them, but based on my last ECU purchase I don't trust my instincts! :)

Haven't laid hands on any adaptronic product, so I can not comment from personal experience. They look nice on paper, and I've hard mostly good things.

Have had experience with MSPNP and DIYPNP. Given the choice, I'd opt for the later. It's also less expensive. In fact, it's the least expensive thing out there by a pretty good margin. But luckily it's performance is not related to its cost.

There's not a damn thing wrong with the MS1 based MSPNP. It worked very well for both power and drivability. You can ask anyone who road in my 1.6 how smooth the damn thing was; it was an impressive car. I assume my dyno charts are still on their website.

The DIYPNP steps up the game with MS2 firmware. It's faster, it's more accurate, and it's got better resolution. (16x16 vs 12x12 fuel table). I was told that the fueling calcs are 100x more accurate. It has a lot of little features that are improved.

You said you don't want to build anything, but the DIYPNP build is seriously easy. Grab component 1, lay it down in the component 1 trace on the board, and so on until you're finished. No brain power. No frustration. Do a little every day on your lunch break, and you'll be done by the weekend.

If you've got adaptronic type cash swinging in your pocket, you might also want to consider the used hydras in the classifieds.

I just ordered a diypnp. Price vs features it doesn't seem like it can be beat. Hopefully I'll have my LINK out and this up and running by the end of the month. I'm going to get it running on my 1.6 before I do my engine swap.
