link, cold start issues

ok so...now that the car has been running great for two weeks with the link installed, it is getting really cold out in the mornings

this morning it was 30 degrees and i tried to start the car, it just kept cranking and cranking....i tried to look through the search forums, as well as through FM's site for advice on cold start, but it jusst brought me to a selection of maps

i tried to use the map they had and it started but immediately died each time....so i reloaded my stock map and by this time it was near 50 degrees and started fine

what should i tweak to get this to work.... COLD zone is currently at 30.

ps, 1.6 NA stock injectors link mk1

Yes- bump it up. Best way to approach this stuff IF you have no clue- change one thing, store and try to start. If it doesn't get a change the right "character", put it back. If it does, change it more. You've basically got three cold parameters- the fuel to start the car, how much fuel after it's running and how quickly that fuel decays. It's all in the manual. :D

I never could get the cold start setting right. Because I never took the time to do all the testing to find the right setting, I settled on switching the ignition switch on and then off about three times before I started it. Each time you turn if on, the injectors fire. The colder it got, the more times I switched it on and off.

That is not the best solution, but if you get in a position where it won't start it will get it to fire up.

Isn't this link for sale? I'm working on getting enough post's to PM you, but if you gimme a PM, maybe I can reply?

I bought a partially parted out Miata that ran link (link was parted). I'm looking to get one in and fire it up again. It looks like I'm in for a challenge I live up north we already got snow and it was a high of about 20 degrees today(don't plan on actually driving until spring)!

hey...yeah it is for sale...its not the link or the cold settings....it was my battery that had terrible CCA and not starting it up...fixed that

its all good!

so if you want to talk about the link, and cant pm, send me an email mike.bogdan@me .com
