link ECU iat sensor
In the link installation instructions it says to take the bullet connector off the power steering pump for the iat sensor. will this affect power steering functionality any or am I supposed to splice in?

While I'm not intimately familiar with the Link in detail, I can say that this will not affect your steering.
The electrical connection at the power steering pump is a pressure-sensitive switch. In the stock configuration, this switch closes whenever the steering pump is under load (eg: when you are turning the wheel against resistance.) This sends a signal to the ECU which raises the idle valve's duty cycle slightly, this pre-compensating for the mechanical load of the pump on the engine. This effect is fairly slight, however- no aftermarket ECU which I am aware of uses this signal, and it is not generally problematic. I assume that with the Link, they are re-using the line, which conveniently runs to the ECU already, to host a new sensor. |
You're correct. I found the answer shortly after posting this and came back to delete this post just to find your reply. Haha thank you though!
