maf voltage at idle
 
Does anyone know off hand what the maf voltage is at idle on a 1.8l engine or around. Also does anyone have a map of grams a second to voltage of the 1.8l maf.

Interested in how much air the engine is drawing in at idle.

Looking to see what the draw of airflow is at idle in grams a second to see if my KA24DE maf I have will be ok or if it will not scale correctly at idle. Considering the 2.4l is a bigger engine and probably wouldn't need to go as low as 1.6l\1.8l equiped maf would need to.

Looking to implement it in the MS2 I have.

So…you plan to use the Honda MAF on your Miata?

Nissan maf
Yes if it can scale to what the engine will draw in.

I don't see why you couldn't accomplish this.

The MAF itself provides a voltage output (not frequency), yes?

The muscle car guys run large MAFs all the time. They do things like change sensor tube sizes, process the voltage via opamps, or do it all in the 'puter.

yes it is voltage output 0-5v

I can't really add much to this, but is there any reason why you're going to all this work fitting a differentn MAF onto the car when you could easily switch it over to MAP and get ride of the MAF altogether?

The map sensor will stay in there reguardless because I stuck it in there and could use it to fall back to.

Plan is to install the MAF and tune for fueling with it, I believe the maf use the AFRtable instead of the VEtable to deal with fueling. So putting 14.7 in the 1000rpm vs 30kpa box while your maf is around that area should net you 14.7 AFR's. so instead of using a fuel VE table to tune in your desired AFR outputs are rpm vs load you use something that seems easier imo. But I'm not the smartest person so we will see.

plans though are to install the maf, wire the maf circuit into the ms2, build the correct inc table for tunerstudio, 1024 adc to grams a second points.
maf will be placed post turbo.

tune my speed density setup a little more because of changes in pipping, it litteraly changed the overall tune and has pissed me off. Makes me wonder if the resonace chamber ( airbox near tb ) has more behind it than just for quieting sound.

I will leave the map sensor in for the turbo and probably look at using mafmap blend, once it starts hitting boost than I can let it take over for VE table, though it makes me wonder about some stuff in different altitudes.

I want to measure airflow not compute it. And since no one has done it that I've seen other than few people I want to see how hard or easy it is and if there are benefits or not.

Doesn't really matter. You have to scale anyway based on how the car reacts. It's trivial.

Why do you need to know g/s? Just install the MAF sensor and log it.
