ms1 v2.2 89-93 will not talk to my laptop
 

hey all, i have been on here for some time, but never post and just read. but i cant find a answer. i have a ms1 v2.2 standalone in my 91. i cant get it to communicate with my laptop. im running vista 32b and im using a com to usb converter from best buy. my computer says the drivers are working fine, i have them set to com5 at 9600. when i bring up mega tune i get (com5) could not be opened... change settings...go offline... i have mega tune set to 9600 and com5. when i go to communications and settings to test the ecu i get no response!

so where do i need to start? are there any other setting i need to change?

does the MS have firmware?

yes, im running firmware 029y4a, however im running vista and getting ready to install i fresh copy of windows 7 on my laptop, i will be reinstalling everything then. a few of the download links are dead and was wondering where the best place to find only ms1 downloads when i do.

ok so im going to try this one more time just installed windows 7. can i get a up to date download link for the ms1 v2.2

any updates on this?Im having similar issues
