MSPNP vs. Braineack
Hello!
Yes I'm new, and I've read some forums and topics on engine management from miata.org and this forum. I couldn't quite find an answer in terms of the differences between the parallel MS Braineack offers on these forums and the MSPNP2 that the company sells as a standalone. I am on the market for another miata, preferably a 94-95, due to the OBD1. I am open to OBD2, but from what I've read its much easier to get around inspections with OBD1. I am in NC, and I believe we only do a sniff test for pre OBD2. My question is: Will running a MS in parallel vs. Standalone throw CEL codes with the MAF deleted? What about OEM retained MAF? And are there options in MS to disable CEL/certain inspection items to have them come up as "ready" or "good"? Other tuners like COBB/Hondata/Diablo have these and I am wondering if MS allows this. *P.S. Are there any advantages of getting Braineack's MS vs the PNP2 version? Thank you for your help, I apologize if i've missed a thread regarding this. |

Step 1: Get Braineacks's MS3x or a MS3pro.
Step 2: Don't run it in parallel, that's dumb. Step 3: Find out how to be exempt from emissions testing in NC |
I am just sad and lonely.

Thank you for the reply Onyxyth,
I did some more digging, and although I couldn't find a MAF related question answered, I did find more about MSPNP and MS3x. For anyone that reads this and needs the information its posted below. Good on you for posting links to relevant threads.
Here is another: https://www.miataturbo.net/megasquir...wcomers-81522/ MS3X > MS2, no matter what version. Don't run in parallel if all you have to do is pass a sniff test. |
I'm trying to figure out where in the world you think I'd offer someone a parallel MS...
