NC drive by wire throttle body
Owned.
:brain: |
what, no musical soundtrack using the motor as your instrument?
|
I'm using subsonic PWM on the motor to keep it quiet. Sorry.
|
So are you saying you can control the drive by wire?
I know Ken and James have stated that they don't want to add drive by wire to MS over lawsuit fears. |

I want this in my ms3x you're going to build in the near future:)
Reverant = WINNING:D But seriously: with the pure awesomeness I'm able to do on the subaru dbw system via tuning, I only PRAY that this gets incorporated into the next 01+ VVT ms3x pnp. Some folks around here have no idea about how cool dbw really is if its set up right. |
Do those lack IAC valves and simply regulate idle airflow using the throttle plate?
|
Nice.
AEM ECU has a stepper output that can be used for DBW, FWIW. I would use DBW and use TPS to target MAP instead of to target throttle position, and make it completely linear. |

Btw, the throttle body and the gas pedal have two potentiometer sensors inside of them, for redundancy. Both are hall effect potentiometers, so no degrading over time, and should be super reliable. |

What's the point of this? Is that a NC Dbw system on an NB TB, or does the NC TB bolt up to an NB manifold? Or are you planning on adapting it to an NB? Or making an NC MS?
I'd definitely want a couple big e-stop buttons available durIng testing. |
NC MS. I grew tired of listening at how impossible it is to get a standalone working on the NC. I have the DBW already working, if it wasn't for the CAN bus tacho/speedo gauge cluster, it would already be in a car. I just need to figure out the CAN bus and it is as good as installed on a customer's car.
The DBW throttle body actually has its own relay for power, which can be activated/deactivated through the ECU. So if anything goes wrong (TPS/pedal goes bad, target plate angle can't be met, etc), you can shut it down and it will keep a minimum plate opening, enough to keep the engine idling. |
When you figure out the CAN bus, you have a whole slew of V8R guys ready to knock on your door. Last I heard they were still having to switch to ugly Autometer gauges.
|
They will need my MS to drive the tacho etc, not sure it will be any good to them.
