Default LC-1 short on OUT2 affecting OUT1?

So I've had an O2 sensor related CEL lately. I'm still NA on the stock ECU, but I'm using an LC-1. I've got it set up such that OUT1 is a NB signal while OUT2 is the WB for MS use. While cleaning up my wiring, I found that he wire for OUT2 came out of it's loom and shorted to ground.

Any ideas if this would shut the unit down and affect my NB signal to the stock ECU? I should have plugged into the LC-1, but I've already corrected the issue. I've been fighting this CEL for a while, it would be nice if this is the fix.

I'm guessing you're not going to get a lot of "Oh yeah, that happened to me" answers on this one.

In analog circuit design, we typically strive to ensure that a short to ground on an output does not cause disruption of the driving circuit. IOW- we current limit our outputs.

Of course, "we" in this case may or may not apply to Innovate. I've thus far resisted the temptation to open mine up and reverse-engineer it. In the absence of current-limiting on the outputs, then it's entirely plausible that a short to ground on an analog output could disrupt the operation of the unit, or at least disrupt the other output, presuming that they share a common regulator.

What was the specific code that you got? I could see a P1130 or P1131 happening in that situation perhaps.

I would not expect this to be a problem unless this is one of the very old design LC-1s (the sort that came in a white and green box). Some of the older ones didn't have quite enough current limiting for a few unusual situations (I think the problem was if ground offsets created a reverse current flow, IIRC), but even then I don't think a problem on one side would damage the other. The newer ones have upgrades to their current liming and and I wouldn't expect any damage.

So the CEL came back. It's a code P0134 - "O2 sensor circuit, no activity". Looks like I have a bit of troubleshooting to do. There is an up side though....

While I was at the parts store using the code reader I met a guy with a RX-7 shop. Picked up a set of 460cc injectors for $10 and he's letting me borrow his BEGi FMU 'till I get my new MS.... Oh yea!

So hopefully I'll not only be able to fix my CEL, but my broken boost gauge as well....

Just checked my LC-1 wiring.... Huh, what's that little yellow wire dangling for? Hmm, that butt splice should have something attatched to it, eh?

Haven't tested yet, but something tells me that was the problem....

The yellow wire is the #1 analog output, which in the default programming is the NBO2 output. So yeah, if it's not connected to your ECU's O2 sensor input, then that's your problem.
