PID boost control
 

Hi all,

Firstly the car is a 94 1.8 running TD04-13t internal wastegate, using a 3 port MAC solenoid

I have been attempting to setup my PID control. First set the DC table in open loop as close as I could, I then switched to closed loop and ended up at these settings but I have over shoot of 10kPa changing gear (testing 3rd-4th) which at 5000rpm I'd like to avoid!

What would be the next steps in dialling this in? Would anyone be able to share their own settings at all?

What ECU?

PID controls are very dependent on the car.

Did you ever get the PID controls sorted?
I'm having the exact same issue on and EMU Black too.

I didn't, I managed to get to an 8kpa overshoot (only on gear change) and just assumed it may have been wastegate being overwhelmed by a large downpipe with full speed turbo. It didn't over shoot on roll on acceleration at all.

I logged high and low P settings and the high just resulted in noticeable oscillations so I just set it where it was smooth.

Try adding some D to control the overshoot.

@wildbean Did you get it fixed, currently tuning my EMU Black, OL table is almost perfect but with Closed Loop turned on it overshoots. Do you know if the controller gets more or less aggressive with a higher value, currently using P 20 I 10 and D 12.5. With P 40 it overshot too much. Seems to suggest a lower value gives a faster response.
