So here it goes my first real post and question
I have a 1.6 with a Begi Shanghai kit with a 2554 running 10psi , MSD ignition box (base timing set to 10* advance), Olderguy o2 clamp, 1.8 purple top injectors, and an ebay tube and fin intercooler(chosen for radiator temps) waiting in the wings.
My question is two staged.
what are the reasonable boost/HP levels to be obtained on this setup? I have seen 225 rwhp here on Megasquirt but not bandaids.
My AEM wideband is reporting a really fat 10.5:1~11:1 at 10 psi on a nice cool humid day in Georgia running the setup above, minus the intercooler.
I realize to fat is not producing power and to lean goes pop.
I imagine once the intercooler is on I have three things to adjust, timing, boost , and fuel, what are some good baselines or targets?
I have searched a bunch but I may have missed the target, and I am expecting the worst, so let me have it, I will learn regardless.

You searched and thought we used "fat" to mean "rich"?
You're not too rich, from what I've read you want to be about .5 higher than you are, or 11.0-11.5 in boost. 11.5-12.0 isn't terrible either though. What are you using for fuel management? Does the Begi Shanghai kit come with their adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

My Begi kit does have the AFPR . My idle values are in the 45psi range and the full boost is at 96psi range.
Fat is a term I use and get from the 2-stroke world, pardon me. Please substitute rich wherever you see "fat".

I will say it because it needs to be (and will be) said many times over: ditch those shitty band aids and get MS.
Now that we got that out of the way, on a stock long block and band aids I would definitely not go any higher than the 10psi you're running on it now.
Once you get a fmic you should try to get the afr into the mid 11's. No point in wasting gas.

Achievable? 200 maybe, and even then its a long shot.
I honestly doubt you'll hit 200, much less 225. But if you do, more power to ya.
You realize that ms for your car is something like 300 bux right?
Sell your afpr, msd, clamp, and add 100-150 and you get ms.
People that don't have that kinda cash to spend at any given moment on their project/fun car shouldn't have a project/fun car in the 1st place. No offense.

I just think to reach said power levels your band aid setup will have to be performing at absolute peak efficiency (can that term even BE used when talking about band aids?) and maxed the hell out.
Yes you do.
I see you buying **** well over 300 just about every week LOL.
I'm no stranger to your build thread

200 is achievable with your setup, no reason to ditch all your equipment and go MS just yet. It will take a lot longer, and you need to have more patience. The thing I liked is I can push a couple keys on the side of the road from the driver seat and I'm retuned. The same would be much less precise and require me to go all over the engine bay with a bunch of tools to adjust.
I had the same setup and paid something like $80 over the selling prices to buy my MS. Even ~1 year ago when I got mine the available bandaid experience here on MT.net was getting thin. MS is just too cheap now. Not that I'm complaining.

Yeah. I was at 12ish psi (never did the ewg source change with bandaids), and on my greddy intercooled setup, I'd say that was 170-190hp. Sounds weird, but I would have put money on that setup NOT hitting 200hp as I had it. With some tuning? Maybe. But even those power/pressure/AFR/temp/MPG levels were hard to keep consistent. I was fiddling with it constantly. Not with the MS.

Sweet, I will see what this setup will run , don't think I won't be *Edit* looking for a Megasquirt in the future.
*more edit*
Thanks for the responses,
18psi, I was fully expecting the "get a megasquirt" comment, and I totally waffled anyways, because I know that I will need one eventually. Believe me the want is strong, The reality is that I do have a tight budget for my toy.
Curly, thanks for your comments, I am not firm on my HP numbers, so with your insight it seems like I should be able to get somewhere in the ballpark. I realize my question doesn't have a firm answer there are just too many variables.
