removing stock o2 sensor
Has anyone tried removing the stock o2 sensor and using just the tuning map entirely? This should eliminate the lean tip-in issues and the need for an o2 clamp.
Some people on the 3000gt forums have mentioned that the stock o2 sensor readings caused their A/F map to "drift", has anyone experienced that? |
Some background info on which ECU you are using would be helpful.
All else being equal, removing the O2 sensor seems like a poor idea. The sensor is supposed to cause the A/F map to "drift" as you put it. That is specifically what it's for- correcting the A/F map to achieve a specified target AFR (14.7:1 while in closed-loop, in the case of a narrowband sensor.) |
I'll be using stock ECU and emanage blue. I guess it makes sense since the A/F map won't be able to anticipate every situation.
I'll most likely pick up an O2 clamp and be done with it... |
