Speeduino Tune Check

2 Attachment(s)
Hello all!

After 2 weeks of reading guides and questions on here I decided it was finally time to actually post/ask a question.

So a bit about the car first -
92 1.6 Manual Eunos
ECU - DIYEFI built Speeduino
Bosch IAT
AEM UEGO AFR Gauge
Toyota Coil on Plugs
HKS Manifold - Decat - Home Made rear section
Cone airfilter

I have attached my tune and my most recent log file. (tune was slightly changed after the log was taken) Would you be able to take a look and see if there is any thing I have blatently screwed up?

I know I need to sort my acceleration enrichment as doing a test on the way home gave me hesitation / mis fire.

The Spark table is what I am most interested in getting corrected. I understand to a certain extent the AFR table and will use that to sort the VE table.

Thanks in advance !

Oh, Forgot to add, I only ever run on 97 Octane fuel :)

Can you link the firmware you used for this project? Most people here are more familiar with Megasquirt and might not have access to the correct firmware. Otherwise we can't load your MSQ.

I sure can!

Here you go :)
It wouldnt let me upload it so https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Jhi...ew?usp=sharing

Your required fuel seems lean. Plugging in 1600cc engine, 212cc injectors, I get 12.7ms required fuel. Yours was 11.7ms. What am I missing? Are your injectors slightly larger?

Your Acceleration Enrichment settings are all centered around TPS. It is my understanding that the 1993 doesn't have a proper TPS to work with that feature. According to the log, the TPS is mostly at 100% and then kinda floats between 0-8%. This tells me that you have the "dumb" TPS. This will not work with that AE strategy. I recommend that you look into upgrading as it makes a huge difference in ease of tuning the AE.

Your trigger angle in the "Trigger Settings" section is listed as "0." Did you follow the instructions on https://wiki.speeduino.com/en/decoders/4G63 to find your actual trigger angle? This is very important to make sure your spark table is commanding the correct spark timing.

That's all I have for the moment.

Sorry forgot to add, it has a VTPS installed. Believe it came from a Kia 🙂

With regards to the trigger angle I was told by various people that this wasn't needed as I had verified my timing using the lock timing function and a timing light.

The required fuel is left as it was stock so I'll look into that once I get home 🙂 thank you so far though !

Having a google, it seems the stock injectors are 230cc on one page, 220 on another and 205 on another... :/

This is stating 230cc but 212 at 3 bar.

Here's what I'm starting with for timing and afr target...

I'd probably run a little richer up at 190KPA - closer to 11.5. You're not going to give up anything material on power or economy as you're flat out but you will gain safety margin. I have run the same sort of AFRs as you without issue on UK 98/99 RON but have added a margin because there is no major downside. You shouldnt borewash at 11.5 target if accurately hitting it.

You timing is a little more aggressive than my 10:1 1.8 VVT at top end but probably looks in correct ballpark for lower compression ratio 1.6 - others will have experience. I always use knock equipment to check, or to calibrate your ecu knock detection and optimise timing on dyno - I wouldnt look to optimise through forum advice as any number of things could mean your base timing and dynamic timing is not the same as the next persons.
