Thumbs up Haltech questions

How's it going!? I've got a couple questions. I've got a 90 with a home brew kit im working on

china charger t28
deatschwerks 1000cc
300 pump
aem fpr
mtuned rail
china manifold
sprint 500
wanna run e85

stock internals can hold up to what psi would you say? track car only btw.

do i need coils?

I have a buddy whos helping with my harness and wiring and read up on the pdf of the parallel install but was a little stumped i guess. we have the igniter hooked up i think.

and last but not least have any recommendations for a dyno shop in southern california? And possibly a base map just to fire the car up for the first time on pump gas?

Thanks a ton for any info thrown my way!

No, you do not need coils. However, depending on how hard you're going to lean on it and wanting to run E85, a coil upgrade should be on your list.

Just email me directly if you like. We'll talk you through it any issues you have. We can get you a good map to get you started as well.

So much fail....

What's a "sprint 500" and "300 pump"? Scratch that, don't care. Don't use them. Sell them. Along with the china manifold. You're lucky to last a few weeks on the street with a china manifold, you won't last 20 minutes on track with one.

Psi doesn't matter for internals, torque output does. Could be 5psi on a giant turbo, or 20 on a tiny one. On your 1.6, it'll be around 225 torques, and on your turbo that'll be about 15ish psi give or take a couple.

Sprint 500 is an entry level Haltech ECU - it's got four cylinder sequential fuel and ignition, and a couple other outputs. Total I/O available is roughly comparable to a DIYPNP.

There is a wealth of info on the MS2/3 for these cars such that I can't see why you'd want to run a haltech. I could understand it on say, an RX-7 because EVERYBODY has a haltech rx7. But by putting a haltech on a miata turbo, you effectively cut yourself off from any help anyone on this site would give you, save for Mr Ludwig, who, you guessed it, was on rx7club first.

^not taking a shot at Chris, just saying that on a miata it seems a little bass-ackwards to reinvent the wheel for the ECU. You don't really gain anything.
