Default Noob in need of a Haltech tuner in the Mid-Atlantic

Well the previous owner blew the diff in the Miata a few months before I bought it. It hadn't really been driven that much, but boost was turned down to 10psi. It was around 25psi. And during that time he also upgraded the injectors to 550cc and did nothing to the tune. The person I was going to have tune it said he didn't want to mess with it since it was the E6K unit and required to be tuned on a DOS laptop. So I ask for your help in finding a tuner who can help me out. The car drives fine and is safe, but it runs very rich. It idles fine and starts up everytime. However, anything past 1/2 throttle and it just dumps fuel and the car stumbles. So it probably wouldn't be to terrible hard to tune considering it is driveable right now, it just needs some timing adjustments and to be leaned out. So if you know anyone or you are a tuner please let me know. I am a noob to turbo cars and to Mazdas. I come from a euro background and have owned 2 bmws as my most recent cars.

Thanks,
Alex

They are on the other side of the state from you, but the do look pretty legit, and would prob know some other shops that know tuning. you might have to travel to get it done since you say its a DOS system programming.

You might want to know the model numbers halteck you have so people can relate to your system.

Goodluck

The problem most people are going to run into is that the USB Serial cables don't work in DOS. You should go to a local used computer store / value village / charity store, and find an old laptop that has a hard wired serial port. Once you get that, then any tuning shop should be willing to tune it for you.

There is a guy near me who specializes in Haltech, Microtech, and other ECU tuning. He deals a lot with RX-7's, but he also tuned my friends LS-1 camaro. KDR (610)298-1946
