Hmmm.. I'd consider it in violation of rule #12, and yet permitted by Rule #50. Definitely worth investigating.

This sounds like a good cause, and an interesting challenge. I'd be happy to turn one out for you in exchange for beer.
I can paypal you the cash to start right away. I'd love to have this up and running for my next Time Trial event. There is a dynojet right down the street from work, so I'll be able to stop in and tune at lunchtime and be able to compare the powercard, megasquirt, and no tuning back to back. |

Unfortunately, I'm in NYC right now and thus away from my workshop, stim, etc. Right now we're awaiting a decision (which should happen in the next couple of days) as to whether we're going to move WCBS-FM this coming Friday or wait a couple of weeks while ConEd moves the power feed for the building onto a new bus. If they delay, I'll be headed back home probably sometime this week. If not, I'll be here a while. If time is a factor (and I wind up staying) then you might want to have someone else do it. Otherwise, I'll be happy to build it once I am back home.

Anyone ready to do some fuel only megasquirt building for me? :wavey:

I've seen plenty of piggyback setups where the ignition (and fuel) lines are on a (or two) switch(s), and you can jump back and forth in real time. So I don't see what would be wrong with building a full MS, and just letting the OEM computer be in charge of the spark during NASA events.

I'm willing to pay if any of you guys are still willing to help me out. I have an SCCA Time Trial at Roebling Road this weekend, and a NASA TT at Lowes next Friday. Would love to try and do something before Lowes. Otherwise, I may just have to hit the dyno for a couple of pulls to get the powercard that I'm currently using adjusted as well as possible. |
Odds are, unless you have someone there who's electronics savy and/or an already built MS you can use, that you're not going to have it ready in time.
If you could run extra injectors I've got a piggy link I'm trying to get rid of. :-P Here's the question - it's a '99 motor, you have to run a 96 computer? Can you tweak the O2 sensor's signal to make it run rich? |
