Tuning with VICS!

Hey guys, I got a question for you.

I'm going to get a dynotune this Tuesday, and I was wondering how I should go about tuning with VICS. Currently it's set to open at 5250 (last I checked), was wondering if I should tune with it off, on, or leave it as-is.. just want to get the best tune I can for my money.

If I remember right, someone said to tune it with it off, then turn it on where the torque starts to drop after peak (usually 5250). Am I right in this?

yes. Switch it where the lines cross on the two runs.

^ Excellent! I'll turn if off in the hydra since I don't' want to bother with plugging vacuum hoses and such (god I hope I remember how lol)

Thanks!

I found 5600 to be the best switchover point in my car, so it's definitely not the same for all Miatas.

That makes sense since the theory was based on Herr Helmholz' work.

since the runner lengths and acoustic path of the intake are the same, the frequency of resonance should be the same.

I think I switched mine at like 5000-5200. It was worth 12ft.lbs at peak.
