Turner studio and different ecus?
I know reading here that MS pnp's are the go to ecus. But my question is what is the difference from MS or the hand full of other companies that run on Turner studio? I'm currently considering a Beer Money Motorsports pnp that looks like it will do everything I personally need (ac/alt/vvt) I might be assuming wrong but if the tuning software is the same what applies too MS would also apply to BMM. So looking at tunes and info on tuning on MS would directly transfer, correct?
Thanks for any input and please feel free to educate me if I'm way off base.

The tuning software is the same (Tuner Studio) but the menus, layout and options will be different depending on the ECU and Firmware revision. For example, if you load up a MS3 tune, you'll find way more menu's and options than a Speeduino tune (especially if you're on early Speeduino firmware).
Some of the tune could be transferred directly, such as a timing map, but things like PID algorithms and fuel tables will not correlate 1:1, simply because the calculations going on behind the scenes are different.
As far as the general tuning concepts, yes, those should translate pretty well between ECUs. The values might not be exactly the same, but the tables will often share a similar shape. If you watch a video on tuning idle on a MS3, you'll probably pick up some information that will help you tuning idle on a BMM, it just might have to be applied slightly differently in the menus.

You can mess with this online for a rough view of the TS interface, it should be ~90% similar to actual BMM interface: https://rusefi.com/online/view.php?msq=1326
You can also start here for the BMM wiki: https://wiki.fome.tech/Vehicle-Speci...5-Quick-Start/. They recently made some major updates to it, but unfortunately a lot of information is still on the Discord, which is inherently a mess to search and read for old information.
If you understand core concepts of the control systems like acceleration enrichment, warmup enrichment (CLT multiplier), etc. and the values Miata's like, then it won't be too difficult to replicate a tune.
