Wells TPS201 How-to?

Hey guys, I just got my Wells TPS201 sensor in today and was going to wire it up, but I noticed the detailed photo in the FAQ was gone:

Does anyone have a copy of that photo? It showed a close-up of the Wells sensor attached to the throttle body.

Thanks

not a wells tps201, but you'll connect the colors this way:

green top, black middle, red bottom.

Perfect. I have a spare throttle body, I'm going to play around with this at work tonight. Looks like you did exactly what I was planning to do by fitting the unit to the stock connector.

Upon looking at the sensor that came in the mail it's not specifically a Wells TPS either. Wells had the TPS201 listed as fitting a 89 Ford Taurus so that's what I ordered from Auto Zone. The brand is different, but the housing looks similar enough and the wiring/connector is identical to the Wells.

Hopefully this will solve some of my idle/throttle issues. After startup the car dies once or twice when coming to a stop. After I restart it the idle sits right at 1450 rpm. Also during light throttle application there is still a little hesitation.

TPS will help significantly.

Try these two things as well:

under the PID Closed loop settings, under lockout detection you need to tune those values. So tuen on your RPMdot gauge, and watch it at idle. Make sure the PI loclout rpmDOT threshold is just above what you see on your gauge at idle. IIRC I'm at 80 rpm/sec

then turn on your headlights and a/c, then change the max decel load% to the load (kPa) just under where you typically idle. I idle around 32 kPa so I use 30kPa as my value. This will make sure that the idle valve opens after you lift and stop pulling vacuum and come to idle.

ECU Acceptance?

Looking into getting one of these before I slap a turbo on. I've never had to 'upgrade' a TPS before, so this is a first for me. Will I need a piggy-back for this TPS to run? Seeing as the factory ECU (from what I can tell) has no pin for the variable signal. I'm hoping to skip on the alternate forms of engine management in this build and just go with a re-flash.

Also, on a 1-5 scale, how difficult is it going to be to retrofit the TPS201 onto the factory mounting plate?

Thx all
