Where to Mount LC-1?
I'd like for the wiring of my LC-1 to follow the stock O2 sensor wiring path. This would mean mounting the LC-1 controller in the engine compartment (on the cold side) with the wires to the O2 sensor running by the coil pack.
Anyway, wondering if this will be OK. I'm worried about heat and electronic noise. OTOH, the OEM O2 sensor wiring on my 1990 actually attaches to the coil bracket and has a connector in the same location as the coil connector. So, maybe the noise isn't that bad or is well shielded. Has anyone else mounted their LC-1 in the engine compartment? Looking for experiences, good and bad. Thank you all!! :noob: |
I have LC-1s in both of my turbo cars and both are in the engine bay in similar locations. No issues. On the S4 it has been installed this way for over 4 years.

Thanks guys. kday, that's exactly where I was planning to mount mine. Glad to hear it works.
What a great site. I love asking questions and quickly getting real, cogent answers. |
I've done that, and its fine... location has to do with where your o2 bung is. My preference is by the shifter, run power and power ground from the window switches (my brothers 93 has manual windows but still has the connector) Makes for an easy install, but you have to deal with the length of the sensors wiring.
