Are 1.6 & 1.8 Oil Squirters the same?
 

Hi all, does anyone know if 1.6 & 1.8 oil squirters are interchangeable? Can't find a mention of squirters on any of the miata engine compatibility lists. I have a 99 1.8 BP, and an offer of some 1.6 squirters -can I use them?
There are currently no 1.8 squirters in Australia, so if I can't use the 1.6 ones, I'll need to prepare to sit in a corner and cry because I won't have the engine finished for Christmas... (1st world problem, but totally serious).

People using forged pistons often omit the squirters entirely, so don't be too stressed if they must be omitted.

1.6 oil jet- B660-10-580B

1.8 oil jet- BP01-10-580A


The bolt is the same through all years, so I'd imagine they would bolt up.

The actual difference tho, I do not know.

Many thanks for these replies folks. Now this next part is a bit embarrassing. The Wife has just gone and had a "girl's look" in the garage - and found the damn original squirters! All is well, except for my self-esteem :)
