1.6 Project | Advice and Help Needed

Hello everyone. So I'm planning to finally open up my stock 1.6 motor in my 1990 Miata and get some power out of it. This one is going to be a long-term project since I'll be away most of the time finishing up my college degree. However, I take every chance I can to go back home and get my hands dirty in my car. Initially, the car was going to be a drift project. The differential is welded for some sliding action (I do have a spare open diff for whenever I destroy my welded diff or if I want to just drive it). I also have BC Racing Coilovers. I did thrash it a little and it's still running good. But I think it's time for a bit of power and a bit of fun with a turbo. I'm slowly buying parts needed for the car so that when I go back home, I have something to do. I'm new to build motors and I'm always eager to learn (the proper way of course). I've done many fabrications and custom bodywork to cars but never touched a motor.

Let's get straight to the point. I want to get some power out this. Here's what I have so far (subject to change):
Flyin' Miata's Forged Pistons 9:1 by Wiseco
Manley Forged H-Beam Rods from Fab9Tuning
Fidanza Adjustable Cam Gears from Fab9Tuning
Valve Spring Kit from Flyin' Miata
Megasquirt PnP ECU

I'm open to suggestions, comments, and advice. I constantly taking down notes and pictures of every build video I see and every thread I read.
