1.8 rebuild for HX35 turbo

Hey everybody how's it going my names Jesse and this is going to be my thread for my engine build. The engine is going to be going into a 1994 Mazda Protege lol I know not a Miata but would love to get one to swap the engine into in the future so just bear with me lol. So I pulled the engine apart last fall after the car was having troubles starting and blowing oil like crazy through the PVC vent into my oil catch can so bad it was literally spraying my windshield so I know it was dead lol. Pulled it apart and found all four pistons had cracked ringlands and the head gasket was losing compression into the coolant passages also. So the plan is to get it into a machine shop to check for bore, (cylinders don't look horrible surpriseingly) get decked, and check all main caps also. Now here's where I need some help, I really need recommendations for machine shops! I want to go to a place I know quality work is going to get done and I don't mind paying a little extra for it. If anybody lives in the MN area and can recommend machine shops I would love that lol. I know the cause of the ringlands was poor injectors and a shitty tune so I'm going to be upgrading to ID1000s and a DIY MS3X system to build and put into the car. After the machine work is done I'm going to buy appropriate sized pistons for it, (need recommendations in this area also have been looking at supertechs wisecos and other options) then get everything balanced and reassemble. It has H beam rods in it and a ported and polished head with a matched GTX or GTR intake (not for sure which one) and an HX35 turbo from a Cummins pickup so after this I'm hoping to be making some good torque with a pretty decent boost range. So there it is everyone I need help on a few things and feel free to ask any questions you got lol I'll try and reply fairly quickly (check email daily) and by the way my budget is about 800$ per month after the 1000$ I have saved now goes into machine work and everything so it might take a couple months for the build to finish but I'm going to stick with it. Lol sorry if this seemed a little jumbled I took a couple tokes off my pipe before I wrote this so I'm seeing a little green lmao

You need pistons in order to perform the machine work. The shop measures each piston and then they bore each cylinder accordingly.

Turbos from diesel engines die a quick death on a gas engine, and they suck for our purpose. Read up about that.

I run Supertech pistons with the Wiesco XX rings, this is a popular choice. They are quiet and take a beating, which bodes well with shitty tuning skills.

Use all OEM gaskets and seals for best results, IMO.

Don't smoke weed and build engines. If it goes like you wall of text you have provided, it wont end well.
