I think it's really important to make sure we're comparing to the k24 and not the 20.
the 24 actually makes good torque and winds out too.

but I got nothing against this setup

Dyno run video

Chilicharger665 09-13-2016 02:54 AM

Results?

my97miata 09-13-2016 09:30 AM

The dyno video was practically a waste of showing, we can't tell what the HP/torque numbers are.

reip 09-13-2016 01:50 PM

The numbers were in the description but here you go anyways

99% of people won't read the description on an embedded video, since it isn't shown...

Great results either way!

Thanks for the video! I heard something about MT making a second-generation kit?

reip 10-03-2016 09:26 PM

Yea apparantly things to make the swap easier along with power steering and fuel line plumbing kit.

I know I'm bring up a forum that has been dead for 14 months. I'm looking in to doing an Ecotec swap this year.

The cars I have owned I order

1993 Miata
2004 Miata
2006 Cobalt SS Supercharged
1996 Miata

Almost every day I owned the Cobalt I thought I love this engine, I just want this in a Miata chassis.

There’s a few ecotec swaps happening currently, myself and urbansoot to name a few. Few key notes, request the racer flywheel spacer and budget for a v8r subframe. Also a few of us have moved the passenger motor mount to make room for the exhaust.

What's the point of Ecotec if you're swapping the subframe also? Are these mostly track prepped builds? Does the Ecotec not make sense for a street car?

You don't need to swap a subframe. The kit comes with engine mounts that bolt up to Miata subframe.

The reason for doing the V8R subframe is because routing an appropriately-sized exhaust (MT will tell you 2" is fine, they're wrong), is a ridiculous nightmare and/or impossible with the stock subframe.

That's a reason why my car ended up with a 2 1/4" downpipe :(

Yep. Would make more power with bigger.
