3-Port Catch-Can.

Hi guys, i'm wondering if i can use a 3 port catch can with the configuration as shown in the image below. Thats because i dont want to run 2 catch-cans and i dont find anything wrong with using a 3 port one. But seems like no one use them in 4 bangers, only in V configuration engines... Why? In my concern it would work well because neither of the ports are seeing any boost (i'll use a 323GTX PCV anyways). And plz don't roast my diagram lol.

What’s your power level and usage of the car? Most here will suggest that you cap the coldside, open the hotside significantly, and vent to atmosphere rather then plumb it back into the intake tract. No catch can is perfect and any vapor hitting your compressor wheel at speed should be avoided. There are several “how to catch can” threads here with plenty of good debate on how to set a catch can up. If you haven’t seen them yet, take a look.

I'm stil building the engine, but my power goals are around 350-400whp, street use only. I searched a lot but couldn't find nothing about 3 port catch cans in 4 bangers. Thanks for your reply mate :)

If you really plumb as you show, there is no need for the PCV valve. If you use it for plumbing purposes, gut it by drilling out the bottom and removing both springs and the plunger.

If big power, VTA from both ports. If little power, stock arrangement. with 323 PVC or stock + check valve between PVC and IM.

Go to Meet and Greet and introduce yourself and tell about your car and your goals.

350-400 whp? The system you have drawn is inadequate.

Which BMW transmission kit are you planning to use?
