3D Model for the B crank shaft

Hi folks, I'm working with Aaron and Ivan from Fluidampr on a deeper dive into the torsional survey for the B power train.
We are looking for a 3D step file or similar for the 1.8 and 1.6 cranks. Anyone have one they can share or want to be part of the investigation and have a go at spinning one up?

Cheers!

Alternatively does anyone know Alec Moody. His Wrench VR build a B game on Steam is just epic and I wonder if there is any TV 3D info we could swap.
Mods, what sort of special needs, broken spanner troll would down mark the above thread? This place has a sickness. You need to get out the flame thrower and purge some of it...

I know Alec

Nice! Just been chatting with him. He modeled his with calipers. It might be good enough for a first look. Let him know it is for a good cause! ;)

Be careful what you wish for

Sav, it is fair comment that the egos and trolls here need to get out of the road of people trying to do good work. This place could be and should be a lot more friendly. It can be fixed and it needs to be. Genuinely disturbing threats like that make things worse not better. It is time to friendly up this forum, for the good of the class the people and because it is the right thing to do.

You've been here for 9 days. The level of egotism and narcissism for you to come onto this forum and dictate what needs to and doesn't need to happen is utterly staggering.

Oh boy, here we go again, derailing a good thread, can we please get back to the topic of getting a 3D model up and running. I have sent you a PM Andrew, as that is staggeringly unfair.

I text him. Maybe he will check in tomorrow.

Gosh, Andrew!

My crankshaft model isn't very accurate. It is just modeled from a handful of caliper measurements for the machined parts. I took some liberties with the counterweights and simplified them to get it finished more quickly.

Thanks Alec, as discussed that would be fine for a start as we can always use water displacement and a night with calipers to tweak it up. Also happy to send it back when done if you like.
In the mean time does anyone have access to a laser scanner with >0.1mm resolution either at work or college? Something like this beauty even? https://www.creaform3d.com/en/portab...r-handyscan-3d

Though I think this is a waste of resources. Just a reminder, don’t forget to calculate oil volume inside the crankshaft when operating.
