93 miata oil temperature sender

Hello miataturbo.net

I've searched through the forum but i can't find an answer.
I have a 93 turbo Miata, I need to locate a place to mount the 1/8npt sender . I have oil filter sandwich plate for oil cooler. the block ports are being used for turbo feed. I don't want to mount the sender at the drain plug either.

What options do I have?

thanks

Glue non-threaded sender to back of oil pan with epoxy, then insulate a large area around it with silicone.

How accurate will the reading be? I have autometer gauge. Where can i buy this kind of sender?

Some temperature sender has longer probe, So you will need to fit an adapter to get adequate clearance.

thanks jason!

Ok...just to bump an OLD thread here...

I have this - http://flyinmiata.com/index.php?dept...0%20%201990-93

Russell fitting from the post above (this one) - http://www.jegs.com/i/Russell/799/670083/10002/-1

Will that Russell fitting replace one of the fittings in the Mocal plate in the FM kit? I assume yes.

2nd question...which sender/gauge brand would be a good one to go with?

I appreciate the help :)
