Default Help with factory oil cooler delete

Hey guys,

I have my head off for some head work and a custom intake manifold, and am trying to get a coolant reroute done while I have easy access. I am using the 1.6 front water neck on the back of my BP4W for the relocation housing, but the coolant neck rests on the neck that sticks out for the oil cooler (the "L" shaped fitting on the back of the BP head). Any tips on how to remove this and plug it? Is it as simple as pulling it out and tapping with a plug? I will be installing an aftermarket cooler when the turbo goes on, so that will address the lack of an oil cooler. Also using a Mustang TB, so I no longer need the lines going there.

I searched but could not find a post explaining this. I saw it asked, but no answers.

Thanks in advance.

Yep pull it out and plug it, or cut thread and put a bolt in.

Or weld it shut.
