95 block in a 99

I've had a 95 motor with eagle rods in it from my old car just sitting in my garage for a while now and decided to swap it into the 99. My plan is to use the block from the 95 with the 99 head; stronger rods, slightly lower compression, with the better flowing head.

I'm just curious what kind of issues I may run into in doing this. Looks like most of the sensors are in the head, so that shouldn't be a problem. I'm thinking that I may have an issue with the 99 crank sensor; is swapping the crank pulley going to be my easiest way around that? Is there anything else I'm overlooking?

It will swap right in. No issues. Swap in the sensor/wheel, throw on the head and you're good to go.

Thanks man, that's what I thought just wanted to make sure.

It's going to explode and cause California to fall into the ocean. I'd suggest a B16 head to be safe.

You'll be fine. I had a bone stock 96 block in my 99 with no problems.

it will work fine i did it with a 97 1.8 into my 99 he is correct just swap out the crank sensor and pickup to the 99 stuff on your block. make sure you dont turn it around backwards (sensor plate behind pully) when you reinstall it or it will drive you nuts trying to figure out why it wont run lol i found out the hard way also there is a certain gap you must maintain but i cant remember it right now good luck

BTDT There is a hole in the older block that you need to run a tap into to mount the crank sensor.
