99-00 head rebulid q's
I have a bp4w head that I'm going to send out to rebuild, nothing radical, just a good rebuild.I have an extra cylinder head (bp26),I plan on removing the sodium ex.valves from the bp26 an have those installed in the rebuild.
Q1,Can I use the keepers from the bp4w on the bp26 ex.valves? Q2,Should I use the bp26 springs(I'm assuming they are heavier) or keep the bp4w springs? The motor will not likely see 7500 rpm, ever. Thanks, NickZ. |
Racecar or no racecar?

No,heck no. 323gtx,I rarely drive it and only in fair weather.

is it a gtx motor or gtr? only gtr's had the sodium filled valves, im not even sure if there compatible due to the b26 uses hla's and bp4w is solid.

Its all gtr motor, have a spare bpdhead, figured out the ex. valves will fit a bp4w all right.
Going to ask the pro's about using the bpd springs.I'll bring one or two in to see if they are in fact stronger, and can be used,or should be used at all. Compatible?Solid/hydr. should not make a diff. on the valve. NickZ eff'ed up the motor code its bpd. |
