Default 99-00 stock fuel rail

Hello I was thinking of taking the stock 99 fuel rail on my NB and making it a dual feed fuel rail. I was going to do this by removing what looks like a fuel pressure regulator and making some thing to connect another fuel line in its place. What I want to know is by removing the thing that looks like a fuel pressure regulator be a bad thing and hurt me in the long run.

The thing on the front of the fuel rail that looks like a pressure regulator is actually an accumulator; it dampens the pulsations in the rail. The regulator on the 99-00 is in the fuel tank.

OH, so this means it would be a bad thing to remove this.

I took mine off for my 99 swap and put a 1.6 FPR in its place. No issues related to fuel that I know of.
