Anyone interested in VVT COP conversion bracket?

While working on Morpheus we decided to switch to VVT COP setup on the BP4W.
Yes, I know, the MSM valve cover works great for that but I already have my valve cover powder coated and didn't feel like having to do that again.
So, we programmed a bracket that bolts the VVT coils onto the BP4W valve cover (might fit 94-97 too, I haven't checked yet) and here's what it looks like -

The only modification you need to do in order to fit this bracket is to tap the 2 holes for the plastic wire brackets into M6 thread using a bottoming tap.
If there's any interest I can make a few more, so let's hear it.

Dammit dude. You're too cool. This is clever.

PM me a price. I was planning to buy parts for Toyota cops this week but I'd rather just use one of the three sets of VVT coils I already have in the garage.

Its a nice bracket setup but why aren't we using Toyota coils again?

Blackbird 09-10-2016 12:29 AM

I have a couple sets of the VVT coils laying around.

But why aren't we using LS coils again?

Cause GM and room for activities and weight and plug wires suck cause they are wear items and i want to add another and to this run on sentence :)

aidandj 09-10-2016 01:18 AM

Toyota COPs are wear items too. Ask me why I have 8 in my spares box. And the answer isn't I have a v8 miata.

Twibs415 09-10-2016 01:37 AM

They are all wear items. All things equal the Toyota setup is half the parts to potentially wear out.

My d585 coils are 8 years old and still kicking ass, using the stock blue NGKs that are at least two years old.

But they aren't equal. The ls coils are about twice as powerful as Toyota.

For an NA engine, I could see how they are unnecessary, but if your changing them anyway....

Username checks out. Cool bracket OP! If I had a 99-00 I'd seriously consider it, VVT coil parts are cheap.

gesso 09-14-2016 12:54 PM

Will it be cheap? I've got vvt coils sitting on the shelf...

Blackbird 09-15-2016 10:52 AM

It'll be cheap if I send you the adapter bracket w/o threads (M6 x 4), bolts, spacers or finish, like $35-40.
As a finished product, threaded, anodized, bolted and supplied with all the spacers, probably $100 or so.

CNP, Coil near plug. Not COP.
