When air is forced into a sheet metal manifold at high boost it will ever so slightly stretch, causing the plenum volume to increase which is good for top end power. When under low boost the sheet metal returns to its original dimensions leading to a smaller plenum volume which is better for low RPMs and torque.

DUH.

That's why they use aluminum in airplanes too more stretch=more lift

At first i thought that TB was welded to the manifold. The welds on that TB flange are massive.
