Bent oil pickup a little

During the process of taking of my oil pan, I put my pry bar on the wrong end of the baffle plate, and bent it and the oil pickup, but they don't look severely damaged.
I wanted to get your options whether or not they should be replaced or if they will just fall back into place when the pan is put back on.

Here's some pictures:

You can see here that the tin is no longer sealed and is hanging down

Here is a picture of the feeder, compared to other pictures it seems to be hanging down now, but I had never seen mine until the damage was done

The baffle will bend back into shape pretty easily. The pickup tube looks like it might have rotated inside the fitting that bolts to the oil pump, needs more investigation.

Why does it look like someone filled the crankcase with chocolate syrup?

Baffle is fine, pickup tube is junk.

Thanks for your input. It's no good because it is crooked?

I got it all back together again, it required a little bit of force to bend it back. Chocolate aside, will this be fine?

I would make damn sure there are no cracks in the tubing. Unbolt the pickup from the oil pump and inspect it very carefully. If there are no cracks, kinks, did not damage the solder where the tube goes into the cast mating surface, and the pan fits properly; then you are most likely ok.

It's such a massively critical part, massively labor-intensive to replace should it fail, and not particularly expensive to replace if you do it today. IOW, a no-brainer to replace it.

O.P.:

If Andrew told me something twice, I'd do it.

I bent mine then bent it back to the correct shape.........

Then replaced it before I put the sump back on because I was scared it could crack at a later date.

Not worth the risk. Just replace it.
