Default best coil on plug conversion

I am looking into going direct coil on plug ignition. I've seen pics of people doing it.
Does anyone know what coils work best in 01 miata and how do you modify harness to accept it?

You're kidding, right? Like, there couldn't possibly EVER have been anything on this before in the history of MT.net. There couldn't possibly be a sticky covering this. This is a 100% original thought and question.

We really should come up with some centralized location to keep all of our useful saved posts to make them easy to find.

It's like this guy didn't get the Miataturbo.net yearly printed edition sent to his mailbox this year.

Well there's 2 easy choices toyota cops, either DIY or from a vender, or the FAB9 cops which only like 4 people have run before and are currently looking at a 50 order backlog from just hype.

OEM Miata COPs. They're plug and play, but pretty rare. Only available on the 1998 USDM Miata. They pulled them in the 99 MY due to cost, but if you can find a set, they should last longer than the car.

I heard about those. So good they don't break up all the way to 100psi and you can run .50 gap no prob.

Coil pack and igniter from a turbo DSM(eclipse, talon, laser) and no mods required. Simply replace the factory miata parts. No fuss, no muss, 15 minutes worth of work, and cheap. Of course you don't have the "cool" factor of COPs which is why 80% of miata drivers have them rather than out of necessity.

There are people on M.net that are using the fab9 coils.

I told him i was holding out for him to get the plugs, so i can make mine P&P.

Leafy stop trying to stir up drama.
When he becomes a vendor here and starts advertising again we can start comparing the two.

I'm not trying to stir up drama. Everyone else was trolling the newb even though IMO he was trying to start a legitimate discussion that we've never covered before.

Erat. Do you know where you are in line? Last I heard they had ~50 orders and only enough stuff on hand to make ~20 kits with no completed kits, and stuff to finish the current orders on order. So it might be a while. The kits seem to be wildly popular from just hype, and that its on sale for $30 less than the trackspeed toyota based kit and includes the dwell adjuster.

No he wasn't, in typical fashion he was being lazy and stupid.

I think Bryan will have a pretty cool product if he works out the kinks, gets his act together (mainly communication and punctuality). I just think its beating a dead horse here since we know he's not a legitimate vendor and we can't openly have a comparison of his COP's vs Andrews

I have no idea where i am in line. But i was working with him a little to get me the right connector. That's where i stand i think... He did tell me the rest of my kit was good to go.

AFAIK this fab9 thing is bryans full time gig, or so he told me. I'm not sure about things being backordered, or on hold such as coils or anything else. But i do know he said he's sent out quite a few kits.
The trouble is that the connectors are hard / impossible to find new.
