Default Turbo Blue 100 Octane Race Gas

So today, I decided to fill my Miata up with 100 octane race gas to get a very safe baseline for spark tuning/calibrating knock sensor. Here is a link that gets you locations where they sell it:

Overview - Sunoco 260 GT100 Locations

and some product info:

Turbo Blue Racing Gasolines

Be forewarned, the **** is pricey at $6/gal! Also, they use a special pump that's separate from everything else with a stupid short hose (at least at the station I filled at). I almost had to park my driver rear tire on the curb just to reach .

We have 100 here in Charlotte, Its also 6.00 a gallon... I run a mix... say putting in 10 gallons., i run 4 gallons 100 oct... and then 6 of premium. I can for sure tell it runs really well on it, just likes to go bang better. But I'm also worried about the lead crapping out my wb o2 sensor... Unless its unleaded, if someone wants to school me. I think 100 is a great way to get more consistent fuel, also being its not a mixed tube of whatever cheapie gas the guy before pumped before I get premium.

If the gas they sell is indeed the Sunoco 260GT100, or the Turbo Blue equivalent, it should be Unleaded, street-legal, and safe for O2 sensors. The Turbo Blue link at the start of this thread leads you to some nice product information... just take a gander .

The pump itself should list whether or not the gas is unleaded, or you could always ask the attendant (altho probably a bit more sketch as some of those gas station attendants are clueless).

I think they do that on purpose. At the gas station by my local track that sells 110, there is a notice stating that it is illegal to put it directly into a car - you have to put it in a container. This is leaded gas though.

I've run leaded 110 every time at the track for two years with my AEM UEGO and have never had a problem. If I am remembering correctly, the manual just states that leaded gas reduces the life span. OEM o2 sensors however.. That may be a problem.

Retards probably put leaded gas in accidentally. I've run dozens of gallons of VP96, VP100, Sunoco 100, and Sunoco 104 through my car with no issues at all.

It ain't gonna make more power unless you run more boost, more timing, and leaner A/Fs with it.
